I've tried googling the issue but to no avail. I've disabled 'HDMI Control' on my TV, but to no avail. TV is a Sony Bravia KDL-46EX653 if that's relevant. As well as running the HDMI through a USB-C to HDMI dongle. It would connect within a few seconds and there was never any issues. Specifically I would mostly use a Dell se2717 monitor.
I have tried all the different HDMI ports, and 2 different HDMI cables that I know work from other devices. 2020 Macbook Pro will not recognize any HDMI connection running Mac OS Big Sur Prior to downloading and installing Mac OS Big Sur, I was able to connect my 2020 Macbook pro to any HDMI monitor/tv. The sound plays for about half a second then cuts out. EDIT: Spotify's player seems a bit more resilient, however it does also glitch, almost like something is continuously being pulled forward but Spotify won't let it, resulting in weird audio skipping and glitching. When I switch to the TV as the sound output, whatever media I have playing starts scrubbing forward, as in video timeline moves. The content plays and sound comes out of the laptop speaker, don't worry, the issue isn't that simple. So, i plug the HDMI in the TV and the laptop.
